Igor Fishelev began his academic journey at Ural State University, earning a degree in physics, and continued with postgraduate research at the Institute of Metal Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This scientific foundation helped him develop an analytical mindset, a methodical approach, and a deep understanding of technology – skills that later guided his entrepreneurial career.
In 1991, amid Russia’s economic transformation, Fishelev co-founded Link, one of the region’s first joint-stock companies. As Vice President, he managed investment projects and oversaw the company’s foreign economic activities, gaining practical experience in strategic management and international trade.

In 1994, he joined Mitsui & Co. Ltd., a leading Japanese trading corporation, and by 1995 became head of its Yekaterinburg office. In this role, he coordinated export and import operations across multiple sectors, built long-term partnerships, and developed expertise in global business practices.
In 2000, leveraging his extensive experience, Mr. Fishelev founded Unimatic, specializing in industrial equipment supply and engineering solutions for the machine-building sector. Under his leadership, the company strengthened partnerships with major global manufacturers and expanded its presence in the industry.
In 2018, Igor completed a planned generational transition, transferring full ownership and management of Unimatic to his son, Oleg Fishelev. Since then, he has focused on mentoring innovators, supporting technology startups, and applying his experience to foster innovation and growth in high-tech projects.
